Terms of Service

Agreement

By creating an account or joining the waitlist you agree to these terms. If you are accepting on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind it.

What the service does

Book of Recipes extracts recipe data from sources you provide, standardises it, and stores it in your personal library. Extraction is automated and imperfect. Always check quantities, temperatures and timings against the original source before you cook, and use your own judgement on food safety, allergens and storage.

Your content and other people’s

You keep ownership of everything you import and every note you write. You grant us only the licence we need to store, process and display that content back to you.

Recipes are yours to keep for private use. Every import retains its original source and a link back to it. Do not use the service to republish other people’s writing, photography or recipe headnotes, and do not import content you have no right to access. We remove infringing material on notice.

Acceptable use

• Do not attempt to break, overload, or reverse-engineer the service.
• Do not scrape the service or resell access to it.
• Do not upload malware, or content that is unlawful where you live.
• Do not use automated tooling to create accounts in bulk.

Plans and billing

The free plan is free and stays free. Paid plans bill in advance, renew automatically, and can be cancelled at any time from your account — cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not pro-rate partial months. If we raise prices we will give you at least thirty days’ notice and your renewal price will not change before then.

Cancellation and export

You may close your account whenever you like. Before you do, export your book: we provide JSON, Markdown and printable PDF exports at every plan level, including the free one. We keep no hostage data.

Availability

We aim for high availability but do not promise uninterrupted service. We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service entirely we will give ninety days’ notice and keep exports working throughout.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, in which case they apply to the extent permitted.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Consumers keep the protections of their local law.
